Hmmm…. what do I write about me? That really is hard… there is so much to say and so little and all at the same time! So I guess I’ll just plunge in!
First of all my name is Elli and I’m twentysomething. As you’ve probably already guessed English isn’t my native language… but German is. (So I guess here is a good place to apologized for odd phrases, funny words, typos…. of course butchered words in my recordings ;))
I’ve started this blog (well acutally I have started another some time ago… but due to technical problems have set up this one) in order to just see if I liked blogging and what it was all about. Well I like it and I’ll keep it up for now ;)! (For everybody who is curious, my old blog can be found here… and I’ll probably transfer a couple of the old blog posts if they fit in somewhere!)
Anyway I won’t dedicate this blog to any special topic either! It’s fun to just write about whatever happens in my life or comes across my mind. All the same I’m pretty sure that the greater part of my blogs will deal with my LibriVoxings, with books I’ve recently read, video games I liked and lots of other stuff…
Ok, this will need some refinement (but I’ll do that eventually)…
If you want to contact me, please just leave a comment or tweet (aravis83)! You can also send me a PM via the LibriVox Forum!
I just wanted to say thanks for your contributions to LibriVox. You’ve chosen several of the stories that I fondly remember from my childhood and that makes me a happy “old” man. In addition, English may not be your native language, but you have a soothing voice and I enjoy listening to your readings while falling asleep.
Thanks again and keep up the good work.
Awww, thanks! 😀
Hi Aravis,
I just wanted to say hi (I know you from Librivox) and let you know that I was looking at your old Blogspot blog and I noticed that we have a few things in common. LOTR is also one of my favourite movies too (Actually it is my #1 favourite) and of course I also love audio books and I enjoy drawing. Good luck with your “new” blog. Stop by and check out mine if you have time.

Hi Jedopi! Nice to see you here! 😀
I must say: It’s really cool to listen english tale with german accent. It make the fairy ambient like somewhat ancient legent retold in ages.
Greetings from New Farm. Thanks for the useful content. I’m doing a project at college and your content was quite useful. Thanks for sharing 🙂
Hi Elli,
I’m new to Librivox, and it’s fascinating. If I may ask, you speak German with a wonderful accent – is it an Austrian dialect? Thanks! – Andy
Thanks! 🙂
Yeah, I have a bit of a typical local Austrian dialect and it occasionally comes through when I’m recording.
Hi Elli, thanks for all your Librivox contributions!
I have the same question as Andy Erasmus: What German-speaking area are you from? Your accent is not one I’m familiar with (I spent some time in Bavaria and Berlin, and you don’t seem to be from either place).
Thanks!
Thanks! 🙂
I’m from Austria and my accent is a typical local Austrian one!
Ahaa, its nice conversation concerning this piece of writing here at this blog, I have read all that, so now me also commenting here.
Hallo Elli,
Hi Dini!
Vielen Dank! Ich werd mich gleich mal darum kümmern! 🙂
lg. Elli
Hello Dear friends! Do we have on librivox any books about Otto von Bismarck in English?
Hi! I don’t think we have. At any rate my quick catalog search didn’t turn up anything. Sorry!
Thanks a lot! I will try to find somebody who reads books about German history
